Shawn Johnson follows her own best advice for life. “Every day is a blessing,” she shared. Since joining the team at Camellia Place, she’s discovered an abundance of blessings. “I’ve been delighted to discover the love and care among staff and residents.”
In her role as, Shawn is responsible for care provided to our residents living in Memory Care at Camellia Place.
As a nurse for more than 10 years, Shawn is most proud that she completed nursing school while working fulltime with two small children. Her career in health care dates back to the early 2000s in Columbia, MO. In 2010, she began working in assisted living, caring for seniors and developing a passion for the honor and privilege of doing so.
When she’s not working, Shawn enjoys spending time with her four granddaughters. It was her own grandmother who was most influential in her life, becoming a registered nurse while raising five children.
Reflecting on her work at Camellia Place, Shawn cites the feeling of family. “We are a family,” she said. “The care and compassion of our staff are above and beyond. I have been a nurse for over 10 years, and this is the most caring and loving place I’ve ever seen.”
