What is Hospice:

It MUST first be stated that hospice is not what it used to be – IT’S SO MUCH MORE!

Hospice is a concept of caring for the terminally ill that dates back to the 1960s. It revolves around the concept of caring for an individual’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. It puts a focus on improving the quality of life and not a cure. By recognizing dying as a natural part of life, Hospice will support the patient and family in maintaining control of end-of-life choices.

Signs that your loved one may need Hospice services:

• Lack of interest in social activities and things they once enjoyed
• Isolation
• Frequent falls
• Loss of appetite and weight loss
• Needs assistance with activities of daily living
